Silvia Kambouridis

Artist Profile

My name is Silvia Kambouridis and I am a sophomore at Barnard College in New York City, born and braised in Oakland, California.

I paint abstract shapes and faces on clothing. My art is inspired by shapes and movements found in nature, from water flowing to plants winding and curling up trees to snakes slithering through the sand. I love making designs with continual lines and playing with the restraints of space on clothing. Every piece that I make is unique and hand painted and takes me between 1.5 and 6 hours to make. I use clothes that I find at flea markets and thrift stores and I also do commissions.

I have also been commissioned to create graphic shirt and bag designs for various companies, including skate brands Chuffed, Bodega Boys, and Lazo.
