Copenhagen Study - drawings and watercolor

While studying abroad in Copenhagen in the fall of 2024, I took a class called Art, Place, and Mindful Practice in which we incorporated drawing, painting, and journaling with discussions and readings about mindfulness and place into our experience of the city and our time there. I learned not only drawing and watercolor skills, but the skills and philosophies of being present that sketching and painting can bring. The emphasis was on experiencing the thing we were drawing and the space we were in over the perfection of the outcome, and this process based approach is something that I have long been a proponent of, and through this class I learned new ways to think and talk about process based art practice.
